The website How to Protect Your Online Reputation has great advice on how to find out how much information about you is on the internet, and what action you can take to help you shape your online reputation while staying safe. It teaches you how to search the web for specific personal information that might be out there and why it could be damaging to you in the future.

Five top tips for staying safe online:

  1. Using your name online – make sure it is only your first name or a made-up name
  2. Use different email addresses to keep your private and public life online separate
  3. Google yourself to find out how much information is online about you, and ask the website owner or administrator to remove anything you don’t feel comfortable with
  4. Use privacy settings when you have a profile on social networking sites; these allow you to determine who can comment and access your content
  5. When posting content and writing posts about yourself make sure you would be comfortable with anyone viewing them – if a future employer or a family member was to read them you have to consider what they would think

Seriously, this is good advice.

Hi everyone!

Yay, my first post!  Greetings to everyone who reads this.

Here’s some things about me:

My fav. food (apart from absolutely everything) would have to be chocolate. If you have chocolate, please keep it out of my sight!

Music I like is a hard one. I love so many different kinds, but I’ll mention that I love the music from Walt Disney movies and songs from modern artists like Chris Brown, Rhianna, Jason Mraz, etc. The list could go on forever.

Fav. Movie is another mix. Of the recent ones I like Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging (hilarious!), but I also like Lord of the Rings and many others.

Fav. Books: Harry Potter and Twilight make the top of the list. But I love to read so again there could be an endless list here.

Don’t like: Being tired. Full stop.

I don’t know what else to put, but I’ve probably rambled on enough anyway, so I’ll just let you get on with your lives now. Thanks for reading!

xoxo Elle
